ThirdStone's newest artist to present live portrait sculpture demonstration July 18th and 19th

Visiting renowned Romanian sculptor Eugen Petri will be in-person at ThirdStone Gallery & Studio on Friday evening, July 18th from 6 til 9PM and again on Saturday, afternoon July 19th from noon til 3PM and will be conducting live portrait sculpture demonstrations on the premises. The public is invited to attend during either session.

Eugen will also be available for private sculpture commissions until the end of July at which time he will be returning to his home and studio in Romania.

Working in clay, Petri will produce portrait busts from live subjects and typically completes a finished portrait in two to three hours. The finished piece can then be kiln-fired to complete it or, in many cases, a bronze cast of the sculpture can also be made. Petri has completed many such portraits across Europe and over the years has earned the reputation of being a modern master of the medium.

This is a rare opportunity to see up-close how this well known artist creates his work and makes his subjects come "alive" from a simple mass of clay.

Persons interested in commissioning a portrait bust should contact the gallery at 269-561-8149 or by email: Bruce@thirdstoned.com. A comissioned work can be made for a fee of $350 which includes firing and finishing of the clay original. Bronzes can be made at additional cost if desired.
