Artist's Statement:
"I believe in the power of womanhood.
I try to capture the serenity, strength and
sensuality women possess.

The imagery in my new body of work is both

Sharon's Bio:

Born in 1960 in Boston Massachusetts, Sharon Micheal was greatly influenced by the contrasting beauty of her surroundings. Early on, she developed an appreciation for both the sea and the city. These experiences are apparent in her earlier work. Her unique imagery and color sensibility was recognized at a young age. This encouraged her to challenge her skills and to continue her journey as an artist.

Sharon's love of travel has been an integral element in the development and direction of her art. She has combined her observations of various landscapes, architectural styles and cultures into her work. Her paintings reflect the mystical sensuality of life and nature.

Sharon currently resides in Chicago with her family. She is a full-time artist, painting for exhibitions and commissions. Her latest body of work, much of which is seen here, explores the human form, reflecting her unique use of color and her distinctive style.

The main focus of Sharon Micheal's life is art and style. Her mastery of contour, color and shape are blended together to create powerful compositions. She is an exciting artist who is continually exploring life on the canvas.

A RECENT REVIEW:

Sharon Micheal's recent paintings continue to evolve the style established solidly in her previous works; the softly glowing colors are still very much present yet the compositions have shifted to the realm of the figure .

A clear move towards even greater expressive sensuousness (and, sensuality) is solidly present in these works while retaining plenty of the luscious mystery which made their forebears so appealing... And with the human form as the subject, she's found a
rich mine of new compositional ore.

Awash in sweeping expression, peaceful exuberance, and even solitary contemplation, and hinting of both the mystical and the mysterious, these new works are simultaneously thought provoking and lovely to behold.
